Department of Livestock Development is a government agency in Thailand under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. It is responsible for developing and regulating the country’s livestock sector.

In simple terms, it works to:

  • improve the health and productivity of farm animals

  • control and prevent animal diseases

  • ensure the safety and quality of animal products (meat, milk, etc.)

  • support farmers with knowledge, standards, and technology

  • oversee animal welfare and livestock-related laws

Its goal is to strengthen Thailand’s livestock industry for food security, public health, and economic growth.
